Vintage Omega Constellation
Omega introduced the Constellation line in 1952 as a ‘deluxe’ collection of wristwatches. Since then, the watches have come a long way and are among the most recognized time pieces in the horology world. Vintage Omega Chronometers
The chronometer, by definition is a watch that has an official certificate from COSC, the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute, for which they have to pass certain precision tests. Over the history, Omega has produced not only fine pieces of chronometers that boast of synchronized mechanical movements, but some of its chronometers have also broken various records in the history of timekeeping. NASA and the First Watch on Moon – Omega Speedmaster Professional
Omega first manufactured the Omega Speedmaster Professional in 1959 which was basically a chronograph that measured elapsed time in seconds, minutes and hours. However, that same factory made watch packed such a punch, i.e. it had such a sturdy built, that it would be the only watch to not only pass NASA’s rigorous testing and end up being the first watch on moon but also be the only NASA certified watch for space missions.
Omega – the official timekeeper for many a Olympics
Olympics and Omega have had a long standing relation; one that dates back right to the 1932 Summer Olympics. It was this year that Omega became the official timekeeper for the Olympics and has ever since been the official timekeeper for 24 times right up till the 2010 Winter Olympics. Thus began Omega’s long and close relationship with the Olympics which no other timekeeper has managed to surpass.
